****CLASS B CDL REQUIRED****Responsibilities:•Safely transportresidents to appointments, outings, and other events as needed.•Maintain a clean andwell-maintained vehicle.•Assist residents withboarding and exiting the vehicle, including wheelchair-bound residents.•Follow all trafficlaws and safe driving practices.•Keep accurate recordsof mileage, trips, and other relevant information.•Communicateeffectively with residents and staff to ensure a positive and comfortableexperience for all passengers.•Perform routinemaintenance checks on the vehicle and report any issues to the appropriatestaff member.•Assist with otherduties as assigned by the management team.•Activity Planning:Collaborate with the Activities Director and interdisciplinary team to developand implement a diverse range of activities that meet the physical, emotional,social, and cognitive needs of residents.•Activity Facilitation:Lead group activities such as arts and crafts, games, exercise programs, musictherapy, reminiscing sessions, and outings to ensure residents' participationand enjoyment.•IndividualizedEngagement: Assess residents' interests, preferences, and abilities to createpersonalized activity plans that promote their overall well-being.•Documentation:Maintain accurate and detailed records of resident participation, progress, andbehavior during activities, and contribute to progress notes and care plans asrequired.•Equipment andSupplies: Maintain inventory of activity supplies, ensuring they arewell-stocked, organized, and readily available for use.•Communication andCollaboration: Communicate regularly with residents, families, and theinterdisciplinary team to gather feedback, address concerns, and share updateson residents' progress and needs.•Safety and Compliance:Follow facility policies and procedures, maintain a safe environment duringactivities, and adhere to infection control guidelines.•Emotional Support:Offer emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a nurturingand caring atmosphere within the facility.•ProfessionalDevelopment: Stay up-to-date with best practices and trends in recreationaltherapy and gerontology through ongoing training and professional developmentopportunities.Requirements:•Valid driver's licenseand a clean driving record.•Ability to operate avariety of vehicles, including cars, vans, and buses.•Ability to effectivelycommunicate with residents and staff.•Ability to assistresidents with boarding and exiting the vehicle, including those with mobilitychallenges.•Must be able to liftup to 50 pounds.•Must be able to work aflexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.•High school diploma orequivalent.Preferredqualifications:•Previous experiencedriving in a senior living community or similar setting.•Possess an active CDLin good standing.•Knowledge of basicvehicle maintenance and repair.•First Aid/CPRcertification.
