Position Summary
The Member Financial Transaction specialists make up a fast-paced team that works to ensure that premium payments are properly processed while providing excellent customer service to clients and policyholders. This position will be maintaining policies for the members of the National Guard and to ensure that member requests and premiums are processed timely.
They ensure that all member financial transactions are processed, controlled, reconciled and researched as required within service level and audit standards.
Essential Job Functions
1. Responsible for processing the following payments and deposits:
a. lockbox and online bill pay
b. file lockbox web exceptions
c. electronic payments
d. manual payments
e. list bill/payroll deduction/allotment payments
f. remote deposit processing
g. refund and commission check disbursement processing
h. NSF, chargeback and EFT return processing
phone payments as necessary
2. Responsible for policy/account maintenance including billing upgrades.
3. Process the Suspense analysis.
4. Responsible for daily and monthly process reconciliations and controls.
5. Accountable for research and resolution of customer payment and refund issues.
6. Post accounting journal entries as required.
7. Responsible for funds transfer initiations as required.
8. Answer and follow up on all customer service telephone calls.
9. Create customer correspondence as needed.
10. Accountable for maintaining expertise in policy changes, offerings, solicitations.
11. Enroll CESA members as follows:
a. Alternate payees in CSEA membership dues
b. CSEA members in EA+ as necessary.
12. Assist Underwriting as needed.
13. Perform other miscellaneous functions and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications
Education/Certification:
Associate's degree in Accounting or minimum of two years college level accounting coursework.
Required Experience:
Minimum of two years banking, accounting, or investment firm operations.
Required Knowledge:
Knowledge in commercial banking operations and investment firm operations.
Skills/Abilities:
Intermediate proficiency in MS Office.
Intermediate proficiency with accounting software Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) preferred.
Attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment.
Travel:
No domestic travel.
Work Schedule:
Regular office schedule.
