Job Summary:

The Senior Materials Buyer position will have a direct and significant impact on the success of EMC by reducing Cost of Goods through negotiation with suppliers. This person will oversee researching and identifying best products and suppliers, materials procurement, and price negotiation. This position also requires strong internal and external communication and influencing skills.

Essential Job Functions:

Develop and maintain superior knowledge of the lighting, lighting/building controls and EV charging markets, relevant practices, and industry trends to enhance supplier negotiation Forecast price trends and their impact on future Conduct research to identify the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality. Communicate between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and Build and maintain good relationships with new and existing Negotiate pricing contracts and monitor the quality of service Prepare pricing quotes by verifying specifications and price; obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items; obtaining approval from technology department, as Utilize a pricing database to ensure that EMC is receiving competitive Source services that EMC or EMC's partners utilize on projects to reduce overall Manage item and pricing data in Manage supplier performance including quarterly vendor Approve purchase requisitions by comparing items requested to master list; resolving any issues prior to PO approval; recommending alternatives. Responsible for handling more complex scopes (Large industrial, civil, EV) Extensive experience and knowledge with lighting and controls products Perform other duties as needed Skills and Abilities:

Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication Expertise in presenting and communicating with Strong problem-solving, financial management and analytical Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel used for tracking and Able to take direction from multiple people, prioritize work and meet deadlines with limited supervision. Able to work well in a team environment as well as individually with minimal direction. Detail-orientated, high degree of accuracy and ability to multi- Education:

Four-year degree required in Business or related Experience Required:

4+ years in the lighting industry. Skilled in Material procurement negotiation Experience Preferred/Other Qualifications:

Development of vendor performance Vendor management (lighting installs, industrial, commercial, retail, others) sourcing CALT Certification Physical Job Requirements and Working Conditions:

The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 10% travel, with some overnights and weekends
