JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
TheQuality Manager will lead and oversee all quality assurance and control processes within our aerospace manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will be experienced and detail oriented, ensure products meet regulatory and customer requirements, manage audits, and lead a team to drive continuous improvement and compliance with industry standards such as AS9100, ISO 9001, and DOD regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 standards. Lead internal and external audits, including customer and regulatory body audits. Oversee inspection and testing of materials, components, and finished products. Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends and lead root cause investigations. Develop corrective and preventive action plans (CAPA) and track their effectiveness. Train and mentor quality staff, inspectors, and production teams on quality standards and procedures. Manage document control, calibration, and configuration management systems. Interface with customers and regulatory agencies regarding quality performance and compliance. Drive continuous improvement initiatives using tools such as Six Sigma, Lean, FMEA, SPC, and 8D. Ensure adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards. QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or related field (required). 5+ years of quality management experience in the aerospace industry. In-depth knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, and other aerospace standards. Experience with DOD compliance requirements (preferred). Proficiency with quality tools and methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, 8D, FMEA, PPAP, APQP). Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills. Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Manager (CQM), or similar certifications (preferred). PREFERRED SKILLS:
ERP/MRP system experience (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or equivalent). Hands-on experience with non-conformance management, root cause analysis, and risk management. Familiarity with AS9102 FATR process Strong understanding of manufacturing processes for aerospace cable assembly manufacturing. HOURS:
