Senior Cost Accountant

St. Louis, MO The Senior Accountant is a member of the Accounting and Finance team working with the accounting systems to complete general accounting responsibilities. This position will be responsible for the monthly close cycle, account reconciliations, general ledger entries and researching/explaining variances. Develop and maintain the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization. Prepare and complete internal cost audits. Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs. Make estimates of new and proposed product costs. Assist in audits and general ledger preparation. Conduct physical inventories and monitor the cycle count program. Prepare month end journal entries. Month end and quarterly account reconciliations. Implementing cost standards for materials and labor. Reconciling beginning raw materials, work-in-progress and finished-goods stock. Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings. Analyze and prepare P&L statements for managers. Work with Marketing and Sales teams to report out financials. Help keep contracts up to date in system. Top Skills Details Cost accounting, Accounting Qualifications Associate's Degree in Accounting or a related field or completion of 4 college-level Accounting courses required. Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred. 5+ years of general accounting experience with strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); experience with IFRS a plus. Ability to work independently and with others to accomplish goals and priorities. Proficient skills with Microsoft Excel and Word. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.43 - $38.43/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
