THE ROLE:
The Product Development Group is looking for a dynamic Manufacturing Test Data and Yield Engineer to join our growing team. As a key contributor to the success of AMD's IP, you will be part of a leading team to enhance AMD's abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry leading technologies used for Datacenter, Machine Learning, and High-Performance Computing.
This position involves a wide range of activities including software development, database design, yield data reporting and analysis. Additionally, the role requires an understanding of system designs, product test, and debugging system level problems. The team fosters and encourages continuous technical innovation to showcase successes as well as facilitate continuous career development.
THE PERSON:
As a contributor to the Product Development Group, you'll deliver scalable, automated solutions informed by systems and data engineering expertise. Your role focuses on data-driven product definition, lifecycle optimization, and root cause analysis. The Systems Design Engineering team promotes innovation through measurable impact and supports continuous career growth. Strong technical communication and leadership are essential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and maintain volume data reporting tools and infrastructure to analyze yield and other production issues
Utilize Python, Snowflake, JMP, and other data analysis tools to create reporting
Review volume data from the manufacturing test process and identify issues/outliers
Review product test content and identify data-driven improvements and optimizations to content
Drive discussions with diverse stakeholders, identifying and resolving issues, supporting debug and driving corrective actions
Support yield analysis to improve supply and reduce cost of production, with a strong focus on product test program-related failures.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Strong experience in related semiconductor, manufacturing, data or product test roles
Strong data analysis and engineering skills are required to be effective in this role
Experience developing and maintaining volume data reporting using Python, Tableau, SQL, PowerBI, Snowflake, JMP or other data analysis tools
Proficiency in coding/scripting is necessary to develop and automate custom analysis algorithms
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and presentations skills, with ability to communicate insights from data
Ability to design experiments and analyze results to solve problems
Understanding of high-volume computer manufacturing product test methods and concepts
Knowledge of semiconductor/computer manufacturing tests and process
Experience in automating data acquisition and reporting processes to streamline operation
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
A BSc, BSEE, BSCE, or a degree in Math, Physics, or Statistics, Engineering or related
