Systems Administrator Opportunity
Koniag Data Solutions, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Systems Administrator with an active Top-Secret clearance to support KDS and our government customer in Arlington, VA. Essential functions, responsibilities, and duties may include, but are not limited to: Managing and maintaining the organization's server infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers, ensuring their availability, scalability, and reliability. Installing, configuring, and maintaining operating systems, software applications, and security patches across the network. Monitoring system performance and proactively addressing any performance issues, bottlenecks, or potential problems. Administering user accounts, permissions, and access rights, ensuring data security and compliance with company policies. Troubleshooting hardware and software issues, performing root cause analysis, and implementing solutions to prevent recurring problems. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement and support new technologies, systems, and applications as needed. Providing technical support to end-users, assisting them with IT-related problems and inquiries. Maintaining and updating documentation related to system configurations, processes, and procedures. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience). More than 6 years of proven experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role, with a strong understanding of IT infrastructure and systems management. Proficiency in managing Windows systems. Familiarity with VMware virtualization technology. Knowledge of network protocols and security best practices. Experience with system monitoring and management tools. Relevant certifications (e.g., VMware Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator). Experience working with technical teams to develop and deliver technical documentation. Requirements: An active Top-Secret clearance with ability to obtain SCI. Extras: Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Effective communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation and task scripting. Certification in ITIL or other relevant service management certifications is a plus.
