Signals Software Engineer 2
to help develop, enhance, and maintain
signal processing software
critical to national security missions. If you thrive in complex environments, enjoy working with cutting-edge

Design, develop, and maintain signal processing software to solve the toughest mission challenges, including detectors, demodulators, and protocol processors. You'll Be Hands-On:
From debugging existing software to integrating new features and optimizing performance, you'll stay actively engaged in every phase of the development process. You'll Collaborate & Lead:
Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and software developers, and lead software development teams when needed to ensure projects stay on track. You'll Be at the Forefront of Technology:
Work with
RF systems , signal processing techniques, and advanced algorithms to create solutions that support national defense. You'll Solve Complex Problems:
Tackle large datasets and real-time systems using your deep knowledge of signal processing,
Fourier transforms , and digital modulation. What You'll Do: Analyze user requirements and translate them into
software design and performance specs . Design and code
new software, or modify existing systems to enhance functionality. Debug and troubleshoot to
identify and correct defects
in current software systems. Develop and implement
signal processing algorithms , optimizing performance while adhering to system constraints. Integrate software into
new or modified systems
or operating environments. Provide
recommendations
for enhancing software development processes and documentation. Lead software development teams, ensuring adherence to project timelines and standards. Collaborate with system engineers to design, document, and test software solutions. Maintain and troubleshoot
RF processing systems
and address issues in the system's architecture. Perform
quality control
on software products and identify areas for process improvement. What You Bring to the Table: 7+ years
of experience as a
Signals Software Engineer (SSWE) , focusing on
Radio Frequency (RF)
systems. Expertise in
Fourier transforms , filtering, communications theory, digital modulation, and error control coding. Proficiency in signals analysis tools like
WVT
and
DVT , and signal processing techniques such as
adaptive beamforming ,
filtering , and
demodulation . Hands-on experience with
software-defined radio architecture
(e.g., SCA, REDHAWK, GNU). Knowledge of
commercial wireless standards , geolocation techniques, and
software configuration management tools
(e.g., GIT, Clearquest, Trac, Subversion). Advanced proficiency with
Linux
and development tools like
Python ,
Eclipse IDE , and
Google Protocol Buffer . Familiarity with
model-based design tools
such as
Matlab
and
Simulink
and
service-oriented architecture (SOA)
principles. What You Need: Bachelor's degree
in
Computer Science
or a related discipline (required). 7+ years
of relevant experience in
SSWE
or equivalent. Four (4) additional years
of SSWE experience may substitute for a Bachelor's degree. Salary Range:
