is seeking a full-time
ER Service Head
to work alongside our ER clinicians, specialists, and leadership team. The ideal candidate will hold a DVM from an accredited university, have completed an internship, and possess at least three years of ER experience. Previous leadership experience is preferred. Our emergency department is expanding due to rapid growth. Our ER team includes highly qualified senior clinicians, technicians, veterinary assistants, and kennel assistants, all dedicated to pet care and hospital excellence. As an ER Service Head, your responsibilities will include: Managing ER Clinicians' schedules, including PTO requests. Leading regular ER meetings and participating in hospital leadership discussions. Mentoring ER Clinicians and support staff.
Overseeing case management and providing guidance on clinical decisions. Integrating emergency and specialty services for hospitalized cases, acting as a liaison between ER and Specialty Clinicians, and consulting with the Medical Director as needed. Monitoring patient safety reporting in the emergency department. Contributing to the recruitment of new Emergency Clinicians.
Ensuring new hires are mentored to promote retention and engagement. Addressing customer service issues and collaborating with management on resolutions. Partnering with hospital leadership to improve ER care, protocols, and client service. Staying informed about hospital issues, working with the Medical Director and leadership on personnel matters, and assisting with performance reviews. Supporting management with client and DVM concerns. Overseeing capital purchases for the ICU/ER department.
