Job Description: Manufacturing / Environmental Test Engineer
Role Overview: As a Manufacturing Test Engineer within Project Kuiper's Environmental Test Lab, you will manage testing processes and equipment critical to satellite production, focusing on process improvement and troubleshooting to enhance lab performance.
Key Responsibilities: Equipment Ownership: Manage environmental test equipment (Thermal, TVAC, Vibe, Shock, HASS), including configurations, maintenance, and vendor relations. Process Development: Create standardized test procedures and work instructions for technicians. Rate Improvement: Analyze data to validate and improve testing throughput, cycle times, and first-pass yields. Automation Troubleshooting: Read and troubleshoot LabView and Python code, understand control loops, and communicate failures effectively. Manufacturing Execution System Management: Define data artifacts and develop system standards for test execution and non-conformance handling. Training: Develop and deliver technician training on equipment and procedures.
Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, aerospace engineering, physics, materials science, or related field. 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or test engineering in aerospace or similar industry. Experience with environmental testing equipment (vibration, thermal, vacuum).
Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency in test automation tools (LabView, Python). Experience developing and improving manufacturing processes.
