Responsibilities and Duties
- Evaluate and treat patients with acute illnesses, minor injuries, and infections.
- Perform basic procedures such as suturing, splinting, incision and drainage (I&D), wound care, and abscess management.
- Order, interpret, and act on diagnostics including labs, X-rays, and EKGs.
- Prescribe medications and manage short-term treatment plans.
- Collaborate with physicians and hospital staff for necessary patient referrals or transfers.
- Educate patients and families on follow-up care and the appropriate use of urgent care services.
- Maintain thorough electronic medical records and adhere to state regulations and hospital protocols.
Additional Information
- Required certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Experience with Meditech EHR preferred
- Previous experience in urgent care, emergency, or high-volume primary care settings is highly desirable.
