The UCHealth Cardiac Surgery Team is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner with expertise in cardiac or cardiovascular surgery and ICU patient management to become a vital part of their innovative, patient-centered approach.
Job Responsibilities:- Provide advanced clinical care for cardiothoracic surgery patients, emphasizing compassionate, patient-first care.
- Assist in cardiac surgeries, including first assisting and performing endoscopic vein harvesting as needed.
- Manage ICU and cardiovascular surgical patient care, including rounding and evaluating patients in CVICU, floor, and clinic settings.
- Participate in two full clinic days weekly, with the flexibility to see additional patients.
- Rotate through operating room coverage, Monday through Friday.
- Collaborate in a collegial, multidisciplinary environment with surgeons and healthcare professionals.
- Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests, developing appropriate plans of care based on patient outcomes.
- Ensure accurate documentation of all care while demonstrating expert clinical judgment and functioning independently.
- Maintain continuing medical education to meet registry requirements.
- Adapt and thrive in a high-stress, dynamic clinical setting, showcasing flexibility and problem-solving skills.

- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a Master s degree in Nursing (REQUIRED).
- Nurse Practitioner Certification by ANCC or AANPCB (REQUIRED).
- Minimum of 3+ years of cardiac or cardiovascular surgery experience with ICU patient management (REQUIRED).
- Unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license to prescribe medications (REQUIRED).
- BLS certification issued by the AHA or American Red Cross (REQUIRED).
- Eligible to provide reimbursable services and maintain status with Medicare and Medicaid (REQUIRED).
- No current or prior sanctions from HHS/OIG or the GSA List of Excluded Individuals and Entities (REQUIRED).
- Current COVID vaccination.
- Unrestricted DEA license.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
