How many scanners/rooms does this department have? "Scanners:
3 Xray, 2 xray rooms and 1 portable
1 CT scanners
only 2 staff on at a time, and ER situations - most patients come from urgent care and ER"
Will they have to float/cover any other areas? everyone comes to the department, and transport needed to get into CT suite
Common types of imaging/studies performed & Job Duties "Working with both CT and Xray patients:
Code Strokes, head, chest abdomen pelvis spine, and 3D reconstruction, some peds through ER/ urgent care
No cardiac/CT procedures, No CT flouro or any flouro on nights, some peds through ER/ urgent care"
Experience or 'Must have' skills "No first time travelers
Must have experience with: Epic, and IV starts, Coke Sroke/CVA patients
Prefer experience with: Siemens equipment
5 years of experience preferred, the more the better
bouncing between both areas"
Average # of scans/studies per day "only 2 staff on at a time for overnight shift, will work in both areas (CT & Xray) during the same shift. Staff work well together to do CTs together when able.
Each tech will do about 30 scans/ shift"
EMR &/or PACS (Picture Archive & Communication System: software & hardware) do they use "McKesson for PACS
Epic for charting"
Department Specific Equipment (Client, Phillips, Siemens) Siemens for CT and Xray, Carestream for portables
Radiology Supervisor or Lead Tech "identified Lead Techs, would not as traveler to do that
Manager Lori available if needed"
Do they use RRA's (Registered Radiology Assistants)? No
Radiologist in-house? "Remote Radiologist, PA onsite Wednesday and Friday during the day.
Volt phone for provider communication- must be comfortable using"
Do they have to start IV's? (if applicable to the department) Yes, required
Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?) " M-F
2 staff on for majority of shift, 3 for a couple overlapping shift hours"
Weekend Requirements yes, potential work some weekends
Holiday Requirements Yes, required
Call or Standby requirement? Response time? Back up call, on rotation with core staff, 30 minute response (try to know needs ahead of time)
Scrub Color/Dress Code: Are scrubs provided? Will provide standard OR Blue
Department specific orientation at least 2 shifts and will be on day shift
