HIGHLIGHTS:
- 12 hour and 8 hour shifts that equal 40 hours per week
- Weekend rotation of working every 3rd Saturday, with a call rotation weekday and weekend
- May be required to work flexible hours, alternate shifts and weekends and call as necessary
- May be required to flex hours/shift as needed to support the needs of the department
- Graduate of an accredited radiography program required
- Experience as an MRI Technologist required
- ARRT Radiography registration required
- ARRT MRI registration required
- Approved CPR or BLS certification required

- Uses appropriate scripting, barriers and identifiers
- Practices aseptic technique and observes universal precautions

- Location: Mercyhealth Hospital and Trauma Center - Janesville, WI
- Performs MRI procedures and related techniques to produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation
- Works as part of a multidisciplinary team, serving on committees and participating in projects as requested
- Performs procedures or examinations under the order of a licensed medical practitioner for diagnostic interpretation
- Prepares patient for procedures
- Provides patient instruction to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety
- Applies principles of magnetic resonance safety to minimize risk to patient, self and others
- Selects and operates the magnetic resonance system, surface coils, physiologic gating devices, and associated equipment
- Positions the patient and equipment to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest
- Immobilizes patients as required for appropriate examination
- Selects appropriate pulse sequences with consideration given to established protocols
- Performs venipuncture, starts and maintains venous access
- Prepares and administers contrast media
- Verifies consent/screening form
- Assists the physician with interventional procedures
- Evaluates images and data for technical quality
- Manipulates and reconstructs digital data for display, ensuring proper identification
- Assumes responsibility for provision of physical and psychological needs of patients during procedures
- Uses radiology information systems (including PACS)
- Completes all required records and reports
- Archives and submits images for physician review and interpretation
- Initiates basic life support action when necessary
- Provides practical instruction to partners and students
