Interventional Radiology Technologist (IRT)
Shift: 4x10s (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
Call: Required – one night per week and every third weekend
Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
Orientation: 2 weeks / 80 hours
Scrubs: Provided
Unit Type: Two endovascular hybrid suites (OR-based)
System Experience: EPIC (documentation), Pyxis (meds), PACS (imaging)
Equipment Used: Siemens, C-Arm, Philips, Ultrasound
Important Notes:
- RTO must be submitted at time of booking – no exceptions.
- Additional RTO or call-offs after booking may result in contract cancellation or DNR (Do Not Return).
- Staff may be assigned to Storm/Hurricane Teams and must report during emergencies or disaster events.
- Mid-contract consolidation to the Centralized Office may occur. Assignments may shift as needed.
Required Experience & Certifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience
- Traveler Experience: First-time travelers not accepted
- Certifications Required:
- ARRT (R)
- ARRT (VI or CV)
Required Skills:
- Laser-assisted procedures
- Angioplasty
- Aortography
- Embolization
- Endograft placement
- IVC filter placement/removal
- Vena cavograms (superior/inferior)
- Mesenteric, pelvic, renal, and visceral angiography
- Stent placement
- Carotid stenting
- Central venous access/port placement
- Dialysis graft creation/revision/interventions (fistulograms, declots)
- Upper/lower extremity angiography
- Thrombolysis / Thrombectomy
- Endovascular interventions
- Equipment setup and monitoring
- Access site prep
- Scrubbing and maintaining a sterile field
- Vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose)
- Use of fluoroscopy, ultrasound, C-arm
- Isolation precautions and sterile technique
- PACS image retrieval and equipment maintenance
