Our firm is working with a growing Manufacturing plant in the Southern Tier of Upstate NY. They are looking for
Senior Design Engineer
to lead the development of advanced mechanical components and brazed assemblies.
Responsibilities:
Lead mechanical design efforts for machined parts and brazed assemblies using CAD tools.
Apply engineering fundamentals to develop efficient designs compliant with standards.
Define and develop joint designs for high-temperature brazing
Generate and maintain complete engineering documentation, including drawings, BOMs, specifications, and test plans.
Conduct FEA and tolerance analysis
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
7+ years
of experience in mechanical design
Proven expertise in designing components involving precision machining, tight tolerances, and high-temperature brazed joints.
Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, and CNC machining processes (milling, turning, grinding).
Proficiency with 3D CAD tools and FEA software.
Familiarity with AS9100, ITAR
Experience with vacuum or dip brazing process design.
Exposure to heat transfer and thermal stress analysis for high-temperature applications.
Working knowledge of manufacturing process validation and first article inspection (FAI).
