Senior Pharmacy Informaticist
Oracle Health Data Intelligence (HDI) is at the forefront of revolutionizing healthcare through cutting-edge data and AI solutions. We are looking for an experienced individual contributor to join our team in the USA. As a Senior Pharmacy Informaticist, you will apply your expertise in clinical informatics and pharmacology to design sophisticated, data-driven algorithms and drug-specific terminologies on the Oracle HDI platform. This role combines clinical insights with technological innovation, fostering collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive progress and shape the future of healthcare. Responsibilities
Apply clinical and informatics knowledge to author and refine clinical algorithm requirements on the Oracle Health Data Intelligence (HDI) platform. Interpret industry standards, specifications, and clinical documentation to draft internal algorithm requirements. Participate in design and requirements-gathering sessions with internal teams and customer stakeholders to ensure algorithms align with clinical, regulatory, and business objectives. Comprehend clinical workflows to guide algorithm development and enhance clinical outcomes. Use internal tools to curate and maintain clinical terminology value sets and to map clinical data to standard terminologies. Collaborate with engineering by handing off clearly defined algorithm requirements and documentation. Draft comprehensive testing scenarios, including edge cases, to support validation and quality assurance processes. Begin to develop familiarity with healthcare data models and how they impact algorithm design. Analyze client-specific clinical data to identify and standardize source elements to standard terminologies (e.g., LOINC, SNOMED CT, RxNorm). Collaborate with internal teams to ensure standardization mappings meet clinical and technical standards, and support quality assurance efforts. Submit inquiries to industry bodies (e.g., CMS, NCQA) to clarify compliance requirements and ensure alignment of algorithms with evolving regulatory guidance. Demonstrate a working understanding of the HDI platform's data model, including the data ingestion pipeline and transformation processes. Analyze the clinical data normalization process and assess the implications of data quality and consistency on algorithm accuracy and performance. Independently query and analyze healthcare data using SQL or similar tools to support the design, validation, and optimization of clinical algorithms. Collaborate cross-functionally with clinical, engineering, data science, product, and customer-facing teams to proactively identify and resolve data or algorithm-related issues. Provide mentorship and technical guidance to entry-level informaticists, especially on complex data interpretation and algorithm logic challenges. Review and contribute to the continuous improvement of internal best practices for clinical algorithm development and quality assurance. Learn to interpret and apply FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) principles in the context of HDI algorithm development. Skills
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills for designing, evaluating, and optimizing clinical algorithms that align with both clinical and business objectives. Proven ability to identify gaps and propose innovative solutions within complex healthcare workflows. Comfortable working in ambiguous, fast-paced environments, with the ability to adapt quickly to evolving healthcare technologies and priorities. Solid understanding of healthcare terminology, clinical workflows, and regulatory standards, including HL7, FHIR, and HIPAA. Experienced in working with diverse healthcare data sourcesincluding electronic health records (EHRs), claims data, and clinical registrieswith demonstrated expertise in data integration, cleansing, and validation to ensure data accuracy and reliability. Familiar with industry-standard clinical terminologies such as RXNorm, NDC, SNOMED CT, LOINC, ICD, and CPT, and their application in healthcare analytics and data science models. Disclaimer: Certain US customer or client-facing roles may be required to comply with applicable requirements, such as immunization and occupational health mandates. Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only.
