State of New Mexico Echo Sonographer License. BLS certification issued through American Heart Association. Weekend Requirement NO On Call Requirement NO POSITION TITLE: Cardiac Sonographer (Registered) DEPARTMENT: Echo Lab (Echocardiography) POSITION SUMMARY: Performs diagnostic echocardiograms on adults and pediatric patients. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent. Two year allied health education program that is patient care related.Allied health occupations include but are not limited to: diagnostic medical sonographer, radiologic technologist, respiratory therapist, occupational therapist, physical therapist and/or registered nurse preferred. CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: A.R.D.M.S./CCI registered or registry eligible or comparable national accreditation required. State of New Mexico Echo Sonographer License. BLS certification issued through American Heart Association. SKILLS: Ability to communicate effectively Demonstrates strong organizational skills Ability to work collaboratively with others from a variety of disciplines Ability to work at a rapid pace under stressful conditions Manual dexterity to perform echocardiograms. EXPERIENCE: Two years of actively doing echocardiograms preferred. NATURE OF SUPERVISION: -Responsible to: Director of Cardiovascular Services ENVIRONMENT: - Bloodborne pathogenC May be exposed to physical injury, infectious diseases and airborne and blood borne pathogens.
