Base pay range
$130,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr Our client, a well-established public accounting firm, is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join their growing team. This role is ideal for a tax professional coming directly from another public accounting firm who is looking to take the next step in their career. The Tax Manager will lead client engagements, provide strategic tax guidance, and ensure high-quality service across a broad client base. Responsibilities: Lead and review preparation of complex tax returns including corporate, partnership, and individual filings. Advise clients on tax strategies that align with their financial goals while ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. Stay current on changes to federal, state, and local tax codes and communicate implications to clients and internal teams. Provide guidance on tax planning for transactions including mergers, acquisitions, and restructurings. Manage IRS and state tax audits on behalf of clients, including correspondence and resolution strategies. Collaborate closely with audit and advisory teams to deliver a holistic approach to client service. Supervise, train, and mentor staff and senior tax accountants; review their work and provide performance feedback. Maintain strong client relationships by delivering proactive communication, strategic insight, and excellent service. Participate in firm initiatives focused on process improvements, team development, and client expansion. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA required. 8+ years of tax experience in public accounting (must currently be working at a public accounting firm). Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax codes, including partnership and corporate tax. Proficiency with tax preparation and research software, and strong Excel skills. Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities. Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment. Seniority level
