Role Description The
Controls Engineer
must have 2-7 years of experience. Responsibilities include engineering project requirements such as DCS/PLC/SCADA/HMI programming, hardware designs, network architecture, instrumentation/electrical designs, check-out/start-up support, etc. This role is hybrid.
Note:
This is an engineering position requiring Controls/Automation engineering skills, not software development.
Responsibilities Technical
Learn, follow, and improve project execution tools, standards, and techniques.
Design, develop, and support process control systems including DCS/PLC/SCADA/HMI programming, hardware designs, and network architecture.
Test work to ensure quality, safety, and alignment with project requirements.
Project Management
Report project status, progress, and obstacles to the project manager.
Identify potential roadblocks and provide input on project risks and lessons learned.
Engage in customer requests, scope evaluation, and participate in meetings.
Sales and Business Development
Build relationships with clients, contribute to proposals and estimates, and understand customer needs for additional scope or services.
Business Operations
Create personal goals aligned with project and business unit goals.
Demonstrate engineering economics, risk management, and financial accountability.
Collaborate, communicate professionally, and focus on continuous improvement and integrity.
Project-Specific (First Assignment)
Support migration from Wonderware to Ignition Vision, including reverse engineering and asset migration.
Work with customers to understand requirements, configure devices, test, and train teams.
Provide ongoing support and develop Ignition Mobile Projects.
Minimum Requirements
BS Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Controls, Chemical, Computer, Mechanical preferred).
Strong leadership, client relation skills, and professional communication.
Experience (2+ years) with controls projects, including system design, development, commissioning, and training.
Knowledge of Ignition SCADA, Allen Bradley PLCs, Wonderware HMI.
Ability to read design documentation and knowledge of programming languages such as Ladder, Structured Text, etc.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Additional Preferred Experience
Modbus, ABB Totalflow, Emerson ROCs, Redlion, SIS, S88 model, network troubleshooting, virtual environments, control panel layouts.
Additional Details
Relocation covered, no travel, local preferred.
Must work on W2 basis (no C2C).
