$40 to $43/hour on W2 without benefits Job Description: Summary: The Project Manager is a key member of Fusions US Product Design & Development team. This role is responsible for managing Custom driven & Fusion driven packaging development by overseeing the design and engineering phase as well as the tool development phase of their assigned projects providing detailed management and involvement from project conception to product launch. The Project Manager is responsible for managing and organizing all timing, milestones, technical information, and project documentation to ensure flawless execution, as well as communicating with both the US-based development and Engineering teams and with China-based Packaging Engineering and Operations personnel. The overall success of the role will be measured by ensuring that a package meets or exceed expectations from a cost, timing, performance, and specification standpoint. This position will also be part of managing the sourcing projects. The Project Manager will report to the Senior Director of Product Line and Program Management, Packaging in the Product Design and Development Department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Coordinate and manage Fusion and custom packaging development projects from inception to marketing launch. This will include proper mold cost and unit cost requests; Drawing/Die line/Spec/FMEA requests; Mold validation and verification management; Timeline management, and sample requests. Establish timelines for new product launches and ensure projects are completed in a timely manner; Ensure each step of the agreed timeline is being committed to and completed by individual project contributors. Lead US project kickoff and China Engineering project kickoff meetings and ensure all appropriate documents are prepared in a timely manner. Work with designers and Engineering staff (US/China) to ensure aesthetics, quality, and functional expectations are met. Interact with key project stakeholders to ensure clear communication throughout the project. Anticipate potential issues that may occur and communicate with the proper departments to create an appropriate corrective action plan; Offer recommendations and provide solutions to any design and engineering challenges that may arise when spec cannot be met; Manage and assist in the resolution of any project scope changes. Maintain updated and detailed project documentation in the Salesforce system including drawings, die lines, MOF, specifications, and project completion reports. Manage and prioritize a list of testing/tasks/activities openly and transparently: to manage expectations, reduce risks, and optimize workflow. Identify process improvements that will result in simplified steps and efficiency gains for the company. Lead or participate in other assigned sourcing projects. Expectations for Success Ability to handle multiple projects with different scopes and requirements at the same time. Ability to manage projects from inception to launch in quality and on time. Thoroughly learn the project management process and the companies packages Communicate effectively both verbally and written and stand as an example of proper communication to the team. Maintain a solid understanding, appreciation, and balance for both creative expression and commercial reality. Requirements Position: Bachelors Degree in project management, packaging, engineering, or associated fields from an accredited college or university The beauty/Cosmetic industry experience is strongly preferred. 3-4 years in a technical packaging support position in cosmetics, beauty packaging, or a related CPG environment Experience working on a PC using Excel, Word, and Outlook. Experience with timeline software is desired, but not required. Bilingual in Mandarin or Spanish is preferred. Domestic travel less than 5%. Seniority level
