We are seeking a Senior Turbine Hardware Engineer to lead the design, analysis, and qualification of key components and assemblies in high-performance steam turbines. This role focuses on developing optimized subcomponents-such as buckets, diaphragms, and nozzles-and ensuring their performance within the complete turbine system. Success requires both the use of advanced computational turbomachinery design tools and a solid grasp of fundamental analytical models.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead the execution of technical scopes for steam and gas turbines, as well as generator assemblies, meeting project quality, schedule, and cost targets Develop turbine system concepts that meet performance goals while streamlining detailed design phases Conduct and review a wide range of engineering analyses-including thermodynamic modeling, blade shaping, flow path optimization, stress and rotordynamic evaluations, and CFD simulations-using industry-standard tools Prepare project estimates and plans based on technical scope, customer needs, and identified risks Organize and lead technical teams through the full product development life cycle Mentor junior engineers in design methodologies, tools, and industry best practices Represent the company in customer engagements, including with the U.S. Navy, with confidence and technical authority Deliver clear, concise communication of technical and programmatic information to both technical and executive audiences Monitor project milestones, manage risks, and provide accurate cost and schedule forecasts Collaborate across internal departments, locations, and supply chain partners to address technical and manufacturing challenges Apply principles of manufacturability, safety, and field-readiness to all hardware designs

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related technical field Minimum of 5 years of experience designing steam turbine or turbomachinery rotating components Ability to obtain a security clearance Familiarity with welded structures and large rotating hardware common in power generation applications Demonstrated ability to drive product development from concept through validation and deployment Experience applying systems engineering methods and integrating multidisciplinary design inputs Strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles including material selection, structural analysis, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, rotordynamics, and fatigue life prediction (LCF/HCF, creep) Preferred Qualifications

Active security clearance Experience with steam turbines supporting electric machinery, motor/drive systems, or electromechanical assemblies Proficient in CAD software (Siemens NX or SolidWorks preferred) Experience using turbine-specific design software (Concepts NREC, SoftInWay, or equivalent) Skilled in finite element and multiphysics simulation tools (ANSYS preferred) Understanding of fabrication, machining, and assembly processes for power generation equipment Competence in project management software (MS Project, Jira) Experience working on military contracts or defense-sector turbine systems Knowledge of applicable military and industrial standards Familiarity with design optimization techniques in turbomachinery applications
