Position Summary The Software Engineering Manager leads the functional test software development team responsible for designing, implementing, and integrating software for automated test systems. This role requires strong technical leadership, personnel management, and collaboration with mechanical and electrical engineering teams for seamless integration and delivery. This position reports to the Division Manager (Functional Test General Manager) and manages 10-12 engineers and technicians across multiple sites. Key Responsibilities: Lead the software engineering team, providing supervision and mentorship Review software and system designs; evaluate team performance and provide feedback Assign tasks and manage resources across projects Communicate staffing and project status to management Train, mentor, hire, and onboard engineers as needed Support quoting efforts for new projects Maintain high standards for software and test system quality Improve development processes, tools, and quality standards Promote adoption of new tools and methods to increase velocity and quality Qualifications: Experience leading geographically distributed teams with skills in team building, mentoring, conflict resolution Ability to develop and manage budgets, schedules, and resources Effective personnel and project management skills Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to interface with customers Bachelor's in electrical or software engineering or equivalent experience 10+ years relevant experience, including at least 3 years in management Experience with functional test systems Knowledge of NI TestStand, .NET, LabVIEW, Python Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to thrive in a dynamic, growth-focused environment Willingness to work extra hours during peak periods Commitment to confidentiality and IP protection Familiarity with standards like ISO 9001, NIST 800-171 What to Expect at Work Physical Demands The physical demands must be met to perform essential functions. The salary range is $90,577 to $130,312 annually. The final starting salary is determined based on qualifications. Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship. Compensation includes base salary, bonuses, and benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement, paid leave, and holidays.
