Sr. Network Engineer at a growth-oriented energy company
Play a key role in shaping the future of the company's enterprise and industrial network standards, with the opportunity to influence architecture across diverse environments
Develop hands-on experience with cloud networking solutions and hybrid connectivity, including AWS integration and cloud-based firewalls
Reporting to the Director, IT Infrastructure, this position will be responsible for designing, securing, maintaining, and optimizing network infrastructure across our refinery, logistics, and retail environments
Key activities include: Design, implement, and manage network infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, and access points across multiple industrial and commercial sites
Support daily operations and troubleshooting for IT and OT networks in refinery, logistics, and retail settings
Maintain and secure network connectivity across SCADA, control systems, and business applications
Ensure consistent application of security policies and procedures across all sites, including firewall rule reviews and segmentation best practices
Configure and manage Cisco, Fortinet, and Palo Alto network equipment
Assist with developing network standards, configuration templates, and documentation to support consistency and scalability
Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and application teams to align network design with security and operational requirements
Analyze network performance metrics and recommend improvements for reliability, throughput, and fault tolerance
Perform firmware upgrades, vulnerability mitigations, and proactive maintenance across all network layers
Assist with planning and execution of network refresh projects, including lifecycle replacements and site expansions
Participate in after-hours support rotations and be available for onsite visits to field locations as required
Maintain up-to-date network diagrams and documentation, including IP address schemes, hardware inventories, and configuration backups.

Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in enterprise and industrial network engineering roles required
Strong experience with network troubleshooting across Layers 1-7, including packet capture and protocol analysis required
Expertise with Cisco network technologies (routing, switching, wireless), Fortinet firewalls, and Palo Alto next-gen firewalls required
Familiarity with managing both IT and OT environments and an understanding of the unique challenges in industrial settings preferred
Strong understanding of network security principles, VLAN segmentation, ACLs, VPNs, and Zero Trust concepts required
Experience in designing and implementing resilient WAN, LAN, and wireless solutions across distributed sites required
Excellent documentation, communication, and team collaboration skills required
Willingness to travel to refinery, retail, and logistics sites as needed (estimated up to 25%) required
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, adjusting to shifting priorities and unexpected changes preferred
