HR Talent Acquisition Manager

Summary:

The HR Talent Acquisition Manager leads the strategy and operations of acquiring the right talent at the right time for Deaconess. This includes overseeing the talent acquisition team, developing innovative recruitment strategies, and addressing the unique challenges of healthcare staffing. The role focuses on building student pipelines, managing international recruitment, filling hard-to-recruit roles, and leveraging forward-thinking practices to ensure a strong and sustainable workforce.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily operations of the talent acquisition function and staff to ensure timely, effective, and compliant recruitment and onboarding.
  • Design and implement strategies to recruit for hard-to-fill clinical, non-clinical, and leadership positions.
  • Develop and maintain student and early-career pipeline programs with schools, universities, and technical colleges.
  • Oversee international recruitment programs, ensuring compliance with immigration laws, licensure requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Partner with internal leaders to proactively assess workforce needs and design targeted recruitment campaigns aligned with organizational goals.
  • Create and manage recruitment marketing campaigns that highlight Deaconess employee value proposition, total rewards package, and employer brand to attract diverse talent.
  • Lead the administration, optimization, and effective use of the applicant tracking system (ats), recruitment marketing platforms, and hris.
  • Monitor and analyze labor market trends, emerging technologies, and recruitment data to ensure strategies remain forward-thinking and data-driven.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contingent staffing, and external partnerships with professional associations, workforce agencies, and community organizations.
  • Evaluate and enhance onboarding processes and curricula to meet candidate, manager, accreditation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure a best-in-class candidate and hiring manager experience.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop recruitment staff to achieve operational excellence and consistency

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises employees in the talent acquisition function of Human Resources. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, collaborating, assigning, and directing work.

  • Communicates Deaconess mission, vision, and values through daily activities and leadership.
  • Provides guidance to staff and leaders in goal setting, problem solving, and resource management.
  • Defines performance objectives and productivity metrics for the department.
  • Demonstrates ability to cope with and lead others through change.
  • Builds collaboration across departments to address organizational needs.
  • Makes sound business decisions using strong judgment and business acumen.

Job Requirements & Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field (Masters preferred).
  • 5+ years of progressive recruitment experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role, preferably in healthcare.
  • Experience in staffing hard-to-fill positions, developing pipelines, and managing international recruitment preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Certification as a Professional or Senior Professional in Human Resources ((S)PHR) preferred, or ability to obtain certification.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare workforce dynamics, licensure, and compliance.
  • Proficiency in ATS, HRIS, and recruitment analytics tools.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strategic thinker with ability to innovate and implement effective talent solutions.
  • Project management, leadership, and team development expertise.
