Job Description

This is a rare opportunity to be trusted advisors on financial performance for an established company at the forefront of AI advancement. The role involves defining the finance charter and strengthening the governance framework, including validating financial targets, setting up budgetary controls, and overseeing controllership functions for the India and US entities.

Controller and Treasury

  1. Lead the Corporate Finance function for India, responsible for external and internal financial reporting, including month-end close, annual audits, and Board reporting.
  2. Manage monthly close processes, audits, and procurement.
  3. Maintain strong familiarity with US GAAP/ IFRS financial standards, especially service revenue recognition.
  4. Manage Treasury, payment gateways, and banking relationships.

Business Finance and Taxation

  1. Develop financial models, Annual Operating Plans (AOP), and model complex business scenarios.
  2. Understand unit-level metrics.
  3. Ensure compliance with US and India taxes, including filings for 1099, use, and sales taxes, working with CPAs for year-end filing.
  4. Handle secretarial and legal contracts, with basic familiarity with timelines and laws, collaborating with company secretarial firms.

Functional / Technical Skills

  1. Chartered Accountant with 6+ years of overall experience, including at least 4 years in finance controllership or tax functions.
  2. Strong Excel modeling skills are essential.
  3. Hands-on experience with ERP systems, process implementation, and familiarity with technical accounting standards (GAAP/ IFRS).
  4. Clear understanding of financial planning, management, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and business growth strategies.
  5. Mature enough to influence stakeholders and work under pressure while maintaining quality.
  6. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to express complex ideas concisely.
