This role involves providing care for patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum. The ideal candidate will float to postpartum as needed and may be required to be on-call if census drops. Responsibilities: - Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients in the Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) settings.- Float to the postpartum unit when necessary.- Perform tasks such as scrubbing, circulating for C-sections, and providing conscious sedation.- Monitor and recognize abnormal fetal heart rate patterns using external fetal monitoring.- Participate in triage of obstetrical patients.- Maintain a patient ratio of 1:2.- Utilize GE Centricity for charting and Pyxis for medication administration.- Communicate effectively using the SBAR (Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendation) format. Qualifications: - Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in Labor and Delivery and Mother/Baby.- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NRP.- Charge experience is preferred.- Experience with external fetal monitoring and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rates is necessary.- First-time travelers are accepted for this position.- Must reside outside of defined radius restrictions: Westchester County, Rockland County, New York City, and within 50 miles of the facility.- Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Unit Details: - Staffing Type: Block scheduling- Weekend Coverage: True, with a maximum of 39 weekend shifts per contract.- Interdisciplinary support available from Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Social Services, and more.- Daily census and specific patient diagnoses will be discussed during the interview process.
