Strategic Sourcing Manager

ESSENTIAL PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:
Ensure continuity of supply cost effectively for critical chemicals/enamels supporting the North American magnet wire operation.
Work Schedule: Hybrid work schedule based out of our Ft Wayne, IN office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop short and long term sourcing strategies for the management of chemical raw materials and suppliers.
• Develop new suppliers.
• Prepare and analyze request for quotations and negotiate pricing, terms and conditions for select raw materials and MRO items.
• Perform duties as a member of the global chemical raw material Purchasing Team.
• Negotiate contracts for chemicals. Order materials and manage inventory levels to acceptable levels.
• Interact with accounting, engineering, and information technology departments. Perform a monthly review of MPV for all major solvents and chemicals.
• Implement and use an ERP/MRP system for major raw material procurement.
• This position will also manage the raw material approval process.
• Responsible for the daily execution of key tasks and responsibilities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• BS or BA degree and a minimum of three years of purchasing experience, chemicals ideal.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS:

• CPSM certification preferred, not required

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Superior problem solving and organizational skills required.
• Understand the impact of currency exchange rates.
• Ability to understand how chemical feedstock pricing affects raw material pricing downstream.

COMPUTER EQUIPMENT AND SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be extremely proficient with spreadsheet, word processing, presentation and database software packages.
