Maintenance Planner

The maintenance planner is to be a key element in the implementation, standardization, and maintenance of the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler serves as a liaison to plant management, production personnel, maintenance supervisors, engineers, supply room personnel, and the work order committees. The main function of the planner is to ensure efficient and effective scheduling and planning of work orders and preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities:

  • Data entry of entire work order system information for all plant equipment.
  • Manage and maintain automated PM system using work order system.
  • Enter departmental scheduled PM's for Plant Equipment.
  • Schedule and plan work orders.
  • Ensure materials for scheduled work orders are available, ordering parts when needed.
  • Verify the availability of parts, materials, and tools prior to scheduling.
  • Regenerate PM work orders as needed.
  • Maintain completed work order histories in work order system/CMMS application.
  • Aid in the management of stock room items and inventories related to planned jobs, PM tasks, or PdM tasks.
  • Meet with the Plant Engineer, Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Supervisors, and department managers weekly to ensure necessary work is appropriately prioritized and scheduled.
  • Follow-up with work requestors on priorities and other required work request details.
  • Communicate completion and non-completion of work orders with requesting department.
  • Audits work orders for accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain incomplete work order backlog system.
  • Manage TPM/work order system and capital projects as requested by management.
  • Benchmark and work with other plants and PM Coordinators in developing standardized PM systems throughout the company.
  • Train others in TPM methods and use of CMMS applications.
  • Assist the maintenance/electrical supervisors with oversight of the mechanics and technicians as directed.
  • Assist with auditing and creating LOTOs.
  • Assist with creating SOPs for equipment.
  • Assist other Maintenance personnel as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Engineer.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Two (2) years of post-high school education, or its equivalent, in an industrial maintenance related field.
  • Intermediate Computer Skills Word, Excel, Ability to attach and manage files

Work Shift: 8 Hr non-rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Observed Calendar, shift starts AM
