Procurement Manager
Summary of duties:
The Procurement Manager oversees the Information Technology purchasing process, from selecting suppliers to ensuring stock optimization. They provide guidance on sourcing and procurement processes. This role requires expertise in supply chain and logistics, focusing on implementing cost-effective purchases of goods and services, ensuring quality control, and adhering to company policies. Additional responsibilities include supporting Accounts Receivable collections from slow-paying customers through negotiation skills.
Procurement Responsibilities:
- Develop inventive and cost-effective procurement strategies.
- Source and engage reliable suppliers and vendors.
- Negotiate advantageous terms with suppliers and vendors.
- Review existing contracts for ongoing feasibility.
- Build and maintain long-term vendor and supplier relationships.
- Create purchase orders and coordinate delivery of goods and services.
- Perform risk assessments on contracts and agreements.
- Manage communication with employees via the companys ticketing system.
- Oversee IT systems tracking shipments, inventory, and supplies.
- Prepare procurement reports.
- Collaborate with the Warehouse team to optimize inventory ordering.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of 6 years procurement experience.
- At least 5 years in diversified leadership, planning, communication, organization, and motivating teams (or equivalent experience).
- Effective communication and negotiation skills with cross-functional leadership teams.
- Ability to think strategically and tactically, from category strategy development to execution.
Preferences:
- C.P.M. and/or CPIM certification is desirable.
Work environment:
- Physical demands may include sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Keyboarding for 40-60% of the time.
- Close vision tasks involving viewing monitors, videophones, and mobile devices (40-60%).
- Lifting computers and equipment.
- Some travel may be required.
