Were hiring a skilled Plant Manager to lead pouch manufacturing operations at a high-volume, fast-paced facility specializing in shelf-stable and fresh pack fruit and vegetable products. This is an excellent opportunity for a manufacturing leader with experience in food or beverage processingparticularly with flexible pouch packaging for purees, juices, sauces, baby food, or produce-based products.
About the Role:
In this role, youll oversee all plant functions including production, quality assurance, maintenance, sanitation, and warehousing. Youll manage a unionized workforce and lead seasonal and year-round operations with a strong focus on safety, quality, continuous improvement, and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily operations of high-speed pouch filling and packaging lines for fruit, vegetable, and produce-based products.
- Maximize efficiency, reduce waste, and meet production targets while ensuring quality and food safety compliance.
- Oversee procurement and inventory of films, ingredients, and materials to support continuous production.
- Drive lean manufacturing practices and implement SOPs to optimize throughput.
- Develop and mentor teams while fostering a strong safety and performance culture.
- Maintain compliance with GMP, HACCP, OSHA, and food industry regulations.
What You Bring:
- 12+ years of experience in plant operations within the food, beverage, or fresh produce processing industries.
- Expertise in pouch or flexible packaging operationshot-fill, retort, aseptic, or cold-fill applications.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with experience managing unionized teams.
- Financial and operational acumen, including budgeting and cost control.
- Bachelors degree in Operations Management, Food Science, Business, or related field.
