The Opportunity
Are you a curious people leader experienced in working with a talented team of HR professionals to take our 12,500 global employees to the next level? When you join Morningstar Corporate in this critical role, you will join a cross-functional HR leadership team in scaling our fast-growing, human-centric organization to fully support Morningstars mission to empower investor success. This position is based in our Chicago office. Matching our company policy of collaboration, this is a hybrid work position with expectations of at least three days in the office.
Your Role at Morningstar
Reporting to the Chief People Officer, you will be a member of the People and Culture Leadership Team. Youve created connectivity between future talent needs and actions of today; developed and implemented globally consistent and sustainable programs; and are a visible advocate for the talent within an organization.
Your Expertise
You have experience in managing a global, matrixed team and have a history of co-creation with the businesses to ensure program success. Youve operationalized talent processes through an enterprise HR system. While youve created a strong track record of building programs from scratch, youre also able to create partnerships with external providers in the marketplace as needed. You make data-driven decisions and are experienced in creating - and executing - the talent management strategy over the longer term. You're a visionary for the enterprise talent ecosystem; you cultivate an ongoing understanding of labor market trends, and you foster a strong professional network. Youre collaborative, expansive in your thinking, and able to drive a comprehensive enterprise talent strategy as well as supporting programming.
This includes:
- Overseeing and developing Talent Management initiatives such as employee learning and leadership development, a talent review system, career programs and succession planning.
- Overseeing the design and implementation of a best in class learning and training program.
- Driving a strong employee experience via exceptional onboarding and the development of front-line people managers, including developing a leadership pipeline with purposeful consideration of DEI.
- Consulting with the business leaders to support their specific workforce strategy and assure that Talent Management investment decisions are collaborative, impactful and well-informed.
- Scaling programmatic operational excellence, global infrastructure and governance for a growing company.
- Partnering with your leadership peers in Total Rewards, DEI, Operations, Business Partners and Talent Acquisition to integrate and align on the employee experience creating a holistic, consistent approach to supporting our people.
- Using data-driven methods to evaluate the effectiveness of Talent Management and performance management programs and provide insights to workforce needs for future success.
- Supporting transparency by clearly communicating and articulating the goals and philosophy of Talent Management.
Qualifications:
- Experience leading a matrixed, global team and delivering results that enable individual business units and employees to succeed.
- Demonstrated thought leadership in the talent management and leadership development space that can be leveraged internally and externally to support Morningstars goals.
- Comfort with providing transparent, candid and sometimes difficult conversations with respect and empathy.
- Executing in a hybrid environment (3 days in the office), including global travel to major offices (25%).
- Bring 15+ years in HR, including 10+ years experience with Talent Management and Learning Development.
- Bachelors degree required; masters degree desired.
