Pay Information $2,002 per week About The Position Job Title: Labor and Delivery Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, NRP, Stable, AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Must-Have: Labor and Delivery experience Intermediate fetal monitoring Triage experience Description: The unit consists of 20 LDRPs and 5 OB assessment beds. Patient ratios are 1:3-4 couplets, and 1:1 for all active labors, VBACs, laboring magnesium sulfate, and laboring insulin. For triage and early labor/cervical ripening, the ratio is 1:1-2. Unit staffing includes a unit secretary during weekdays and a Patient Care Technician. An OB scrub tech is available 24/7. Equipment includes GE fetal monitors and Novii S. The documentation system used is CPN and Meditech. Scheduling is done using Timpani scheduling, with preferences highly considered. There is a no floating policy for staff. Patient experience requires bedside shift report every shift, every time. Certifications needed are BLS, NRP, Stable, and AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring. The required uniform is shocking pink scrubs; pale pink or mauve are not allowed. Procedures performed on the unit include vaginal deliveries, versions, C/S, epidurals, postpartum tubals, cerclage removal, and circumcisions. The unit has received recognition as a unit of distinction in 2021. The facility is an innovation pilot site, focusing on solutions that improve the workload of nurses and enhance patient experience and outcomes.
