Pay Information $2,860 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience required License: Valid RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Previous travel experience - Charge experience - Patient ratio experience of 2:1 Description: The position requires a Registered Nurse with experience in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. Nights are the scheduled work time with shifts of 12 hours. The nurse will provide care for adults and geriatric patients. Daily census is approximately 10 patients. The unit has 16 beds. The nurse will be responsible for various clinical tasks including arterial line management and ventilator management. Assistance with chest tube insertion and removal is also expected. Blood product administration and managing cardiac drips are part of the role. The nurse will care for patients recovering from cardiac surgery. Team support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams. Floating to similar units may be required based on facility needs. The role involves a high level of critical thinking and the ability to manage multi-system organ failure. Infection prevention protocols must be followed diligently. Strong communication skills are necessary for interdisciplinary collaboration. The nurse must be proficient in interpreting ABGs and dysrhythmias. Scheduled pre-approved time off is permissible.
