Pay Information $2,122 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Profession: RN Specialty: CVICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Critical Care required License: RN Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Management of vasoactive medications - Experience with various surgical drains - Experience with chest tubes and ventilators - Knowledge of invasive lines, including arterial lines and PA catheters - Experience with transvenous pacemakers - Management of invasive devices, including IABP and Impella Description: We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. The facility is a 457 licensed bed teaching hospital and a Trauma Level III center. Our unit consists of 14 private rooms, including two negative pressure rooms. Patient types commonly encountered include STEMI (unstable), cardiogenic shock, cardiac arrest, and thoracic surgery cases. The typical patient ratio is 1 RN to 2 patients. The support within the department includes a charge nurse who may or may not have patient assignments. Respiratory Therapy is available 24/7. Intensivist coverage is provided 24/7 on the unit. Technology used includes Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Philips monitors. Traveling between facilities may be required based on regional needs.
