Required:
  • Must have minimum 7-10 years of experience in quality management within the electric utility or energy sector is must.
  • Must be familiar with utility-grade equipment (transformers, switchgears, breakers, high voltage cable, etc.) manufacturing and testing protocols as well as familiar with construction management practices.
  • Must be able to read and understand codes, standards, blueprints/schematics, specification and contracts.
  • Must be able to schedule and perform project audits to efficiently evaluate and track compliance with quality control plans/procedures in place and provide prompt feedback to all stakeholders.
  • Must have experience in a decision-making position, knowledge of causal analysis methods and quality standards, self-motivated and independent, analytical thinking, with good personal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Quality Management qualification certification from ISO 9001, ASQ, or US Army Corps of Engineers is a must.
  • Experience with developing quality management systems from scratch is preferred.
Required Qualifications / Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Requires in-depth knowledge of the Standards as well as safety rules and regulations to act as the face of the Company to accurately determine compliance obligations that may affect operations and construction activities and compromise adherence to the process and controls put in place to maintain the quality standards.
Responsibilities:
Quality Oversight & Compliance
  • Develop and implement QA/QC plans for equipment manufacturing and construction to include inspection protocols, acceptance criteria, and escalation procedures for non-conformances across all phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g. IEEE, ANSI, ISO, etc.), regulatory requirements, and internal specifications.
  • Conduct audits and inspections of suppliers and contractors to verify compliance with approved quality plans.
  • Document findings, issue corrective action requests, and track resolution to closure.
  • Ensure that all inspections are traceable and meet regulatory documentation standards.
Construction Quality Management
  • Review and approve contractors' quality plans related to construction plans and procedures.
  • Evaluate contractor work plans, method statements, and inspection test plans (ITPs) for quality perspective.
  • Ensure that quality checkpoints are embedded in the schedule and that procedures reflect best practices.
  • Conduct site visits to verify that construction QA/QC activities are executed per approved Quality Management Plan specifications.
  • Collaborate with site managers to resolve non-conformances.
  • Lead root cause investigations for field issues by facilitating cross-functional meetings to implement corrective actions and prevent recurrence.
OEM Equipment Manufacturing Oversight
  • Evaluate OEMs' quality systems and testing protocols.
  • Ensure that their internal audits, calibration programs, and material traceability systems meet industry standards.
  • Review, evaluate, and attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Review, evaluate, and approve corrective actions plan for any equipment failures during all phases from manufacturing to post-installation.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections and corrective actions by using digital platforms to log inspection results, Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and Corrective Action and Preventive Action plans (CAPAs).
  • Ensure that all documentation is audit-ready and accessible to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare formal audit summaries for submission and notification to all stakeholders of any critical findings and proposed resolutions.
  • Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop lessons learned reports and integrate findings into future project planning.
Stakeholder Coordination
  • Interface with design, engineering, procurement, and construction teams.
  • Participate in design reviews, procurement evaluations, and construction kickoff meetings to embed quality expectations early on.
  • Ensure that specifications reflect realistic quality standards and that vendors are pre-qualified accordingly.
  • Train internal and external teams on quality standards
