Purchasing Manager
Experience Level Required: Mid to Senior Level

Introduction: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Purchasing Manager to join our dynamic team at a leading machine shop. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of metal parts and managing a buyer who reports directly to them. This role is crucial in ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of high-quality materials to support our production processes.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute purchasing strategies for metal parts
- Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers
- Manage and mentor a buyer, providing guidance and support
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of materials
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to meet material requirements
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to analyze data and make informed purchasing decisions
- Knowledge of metal parts and machining processes is a plus
Specific Skills: Experience with ERP systems, knowledge of ISO standards
Compensation Range: $100-120K
