You will oversee daily QC activities and drive quality improvements through trend analysis. This role will manage the operations of QC Lab, including inventory, test methods, equipment maintenance, training, and daily testing, as well as record keeping and data collection. Additionally, you will assist with budget management and oversee project management activities related to quality control. It is your responsibility for inspection of raw materials, work in process and finished products to ensure they conform to all applicable federal, state, local and company standards. You will lead a small team of quality control technicians and will report to our Director of QA & Technical Services.Position Key Areas of ResponsibilityLead by example, demonstrating a positive attitude and commitment to excellenceFoster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability, and ensures the team is aligned with the company mission, vision, and valuesLead and develop a team of quality control technicians by providing direction, support, feedback, and mentorship to ensure their success through regular 1:1s, coaching, training, and developmentEncourage and recognize team members for their contributions and successes and provide constructive feedback and support when needed Understand Food Science and Food Safety principles to ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), FDA Nutritional Labeling requirements, and FDA Code of Federal Regulations related to food productionIdentify and address quality issues; recognize defects and system failures and take appropriate corrective actionsCollaborate closely with Quality Assurance on the audit process and daily management of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) plans to ensure food safety complianceCollaborate with Director of QA & Tech Services and QA Team for continuous review of Quality Management System documentation, communicate revisions, conduct training, and implement new procedures as needed. Identify and address procedural gapsInitiate, manage, and facilitate projects aimed at enhancing quality, reducing cost, and improving key performance indicators (KPIs)Collaborate closely with Quality Assurance, R&D, Sales, and Marketing to provide the technical resources necessary for new product development, ongoing quality support, and compliance for existing productsOversee all requests submitted through ticket system, assign tasks, and ensure timely resolution by techniciansManage the Operations Training Matrix and program to ensure that new hires and existing employees meet all training requirements for respective roleCollect, analyze, and manage quality control data that aligns with organizational objectives to drive continuous improvement and support decision-makingAnalyze processes, identify trends and anomalies, and continuously evaluate plant programs for improvementMaintain open communication between the QA/QC team, Plant operations and Plant LeadershipPosition Salary/CompensationSalary $75,000 - $90,000, depending on experiencePerformance Bonus PlanCompetitive and comprehensive benefits package includes low premium health, dental, vision, life, disability, 401K with company matching, paid vacation and holidays, career advancement opportunitiesRequirements: Position RequirementsB.S.
