Our department is transitioning from a Level IV to a Level II trauma center, presenting a unique opportunity for professionals looking to expand their skills in trauma care. Key Responsibilities: - Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with varying acuity levels (ESI 4 & 5, may care for up to ESI 6).- Perform essential nursing tasks including assessments, documentation, medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, care for non-critical patients, and lab draws.- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team including Charge Nurses, Triage Nurses, and Technicians to ensure outstanding patient outcomes.- Actively participate in mandatory shift huddles to discuss patient care strategies and updates.- Uphold compliance with EMTALA regulations and internal policies. Unit Information: - Number of Beds: 16 with 8 hall chairs- Staffing Model: 6-7 staff members per shift including Charge Nurses, Triages, and support staff. - Patient Ratios: 1:4 (Low acuity)- Equipment: Cardiac monitors, Baxter IV pumps, HPs, Tonopen, and more.- EMR: Meditech with vital signs flowing into patient charts. Required Qualifications: - Demonstrated experience in an emergency department setting (preferably Level II or Level III trauma).- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, ENPC or PALS; preference for CEN or TCRN.- Key attributes: Compassion, urgency, and a collaborative teamwork approach.- Minimum of two years of emergency department experience is highly preferred.
