Summary/ObjectiveThe Maintenance Planner is responsible for coordinating and scheduling maintenance activities to ensure the reliability and efficiency of plant equipment and facilities. This role plays a critical part in minimizing downtime, optimizing maintenance resources, and supporting overall operational excellence.Essential FunctionsMaintenance Planning and Scheduling:Collaborate with maintenance supervisors and technicians to develop and maintain a comprehensive maintenance schedule for plant equipment, machinery, and facilities.Prioritize maintenance tasks based on urgency, equipment criticality, and production schedules, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to minimize downtime and disruption to operations.Coordinate with production and other departments to schedule maintenance activities during planned downtime periods to minimize production impact.Spare Parts and Inventory Management:Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance history, including repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance activities.Identify and procure necessary spare parts and materials for planned maintenance activities, ensuring that inventory levels are sufficient to support maintenance needs while minimizing excess inventory and associated costs.Work closely with procurement and supply chain teams to source parts, negotiate contracts with suppliers, and manage vendor relationships.Work Order Management:Generate and prioritize work orders for scheduled maintenance activities, ensuring that all necessary resources, materials, and documentation are available before work begins.Track the status of work orders, monitor progress, and update schedules as needed to reflect changes in priorities or resource availability.Ensure that all maintenance work is performed in accordance with safety regulations, standard operating procedures, and best practices.Continuous Improvement:Analyze maintenance data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to implement best practices, standardize procedures, and streamline maintenance workflows.Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities to address recurring equipment failures or maintenance issues.Documentation and Reporting:Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment history, and maintenance schedules.Prepare and distribute regular reports on maintenance performance, including metrics such as equipment uptime, maintenance backlog, and resource utilization.Provide input and recommendations for budget planning, resource allocation, and capital expenditures related to maintenance activities.Qualifications RequirementsAssociate degree or equivalent technical certification in a relevant field (e.g., mechanical engineering, industrial maintenance).5 years of experience in maintenance planning or related role in a manufacturing or industrial environment.Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and/or hydraulic systems, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and equipment specifications.Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other maintenance planning software.Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
