Job DescriptionMaterials Manager Phoenix, AZ (On-Site)$125K - $135K Plus BonusWe are looking for a Materials Manager to oversee the entire materials value stream, from procurement to finished product, ensuring quality parts on time, at best cost while leading and implementing Lean materials practices and initiatives.Required:Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, Business, or other relevant field 5 years working as a Materials Manager or similar role in a Lean Manufacturing environmentKnowledgeable in Lean manufacturing practices and materials systemsFamiliarity with material requirements planning (MRP) and inventory management systems.Experience in purchasing, inventory control, and warehousing.Familiarity with supply chain management principles.Responsibilities:Identify and source materials ensuring quality and cost-effectivenessDevelop and implement material plans based on production schedules and forecastsImplement and manage a Lean materials system including Supermarkets, Kanban, PFEP, and Point-of-use storage and distributionNegotiate contracts and manage supplier relationshipsMaintain accurate inventory levelsWork with Product Engineering on new and revised parts, including identifying sources and acquiring prototypesAddress material issues and implement solutions to improve flowMonitor, analyze, and improve material costs and supplier performanceDevelop and implement material management policies and proceduresPrepare and analyze reports on material costs, inventory levels, and supplier performanceManage the materials team including sourcing, buying, and shop floor material distribution
