Division Chief & Associate/Full Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Florida (UF) College of Medicine is one of the largest multifaceted programs, centered within a major academic health center. Faculty in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Florida are engaged in groundbreaking projects covering a variety of interests through our Centers, labs, and collaborations with other departments. The Department includes a large outpatient center with various specialty clinics within (including one associated with our Center for Autism and Neurodevelopment), a very active inpatient service, psychiatry collaborative program for primary care practitioners, school consultation program, and community consultation services.

The Department of Psychiatry spans services across adult, addiction, and child/adolescent specializations, including a freestanding psychiatric hospital, a large consult liaison service at the main UF Shands Hospital, the Florida Recovery Center operated by our Addiction Division, and multiple research centers including the Center for Addiction Research & Education and the Center for OCD and Related Disorders (COARD). UF is also an active site for the NIH-landmark Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) Study.

The University of Florida Department of Psychiatry is seeking an outstanding leader for the position of Division Chief and Associate/Full Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry . This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), tenure or non-tenure track faculty position. This role includes significant leadership, teaching, scholarly, and administrative responsibilities, with opportunities to shape the future of psychiatric care and research at our institution.

The Position:

The Division Chief and Associate/Full Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry will oversee the clinical, academic, and research operations in child and adolescent psychiatry within our department. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and highly experienced, board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrist with a passion for advancing mental health care and education for children and adolescents and their families.

The Candidate

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
  • Board Certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • Eligibility for licensure in Florida.
  • Academic rank of Associate Professor or higher (or equivalent experience).
  • A strong record of clinical, scholarly, and educational accomplishments.
  • Demonstrated leadership and administrative experience in an academic or clinical setting.
  • Experience in mentoring, program or curriculum development, and teaching.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • National recognition in child and adolescent psychiatry clinical care, research and/or education.
  • Experience developing or leading innovative programs in mental health care for children and adolescents.
  • A track record of publications and research in the field of child psychiatry.
  • Ability to secure research funding.
