Pay Information $2,172 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Neuro ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU experience License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Level 1 trauma experience, EVD experience, strong neuro assessment skills, ICP monitoring experience Description: MUST HAVE LEVEL 1 TRAUMA EXPERIENCE. NO FIRST-TIME TRAVELERS. MUST HAVE EVD EXPERIENCE. Medical solutions pre-screens required. Candidates must pass a DYS exam prior to acceptance. Two attempts to pass; if failed, must wait 6 months to reapply. Must have own vehicles for travel teams. Candidates should have natural hair color and no facial piercings. Men must be clean-shaven for fit testing. Pass-fail exam on day 1 of orientation. Day 1 exam details to follow. Must be able to float to other units as needed. All RNs must complete simulations lab for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes. A pass/fail assessment will be conducted during simulations lab. Any nurse unsure of their competence in these tasks may not be a good fit. Floating to other ICU floors and tele units will be required. Common diagnoses include critical care patients with neurological conditions. The facility handles craniotomies, brain tumor removals, ablations, brain biopsies, complicated spine surgeries, and scoliosis repairs. Cancellation policy allows up to 4 shift cancellations during a 13-week assignment. Charting system used is Cerner. Additional education will cover lifts, restraints, and wound care for all staff.
