Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele

Experience: Minimum of 18 months of Med/Tele RN experience required
License: Required RN License
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Must-Have:
General Med/Tele skill set, including:
Cardiac rhythm interpretation
Experience with non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem/Amiodarone)
Care of patients with tubes/drains
IV start skills
Blood products administration
Wound care/dressing changes
Description:
This is a MedSurg/Tele RN position.
The facility is a licensed 457-bed hospital.
It is a Level 3 Trauma center and a Stroke Center of Excellence.
The average daily census is approximately 51 patients.
Patient types include those with chronic diseases, CHF specialty, mental health issues, and addiction services.
Patients may require 6 weeks of IV antibiotics, and may include cases of COPD, DM, wounds, and geriatric care.
The patient ratios are RN: 1:4-6, with the possibility of increased acuity during surge times.
Support staff within the department includes a Nurse Manager, Clinical Supervisors, staff RNs, CNA, Clinical Mentor, and Rapid Response RN.
Technology used includes EMR and department-specific equipment.
Flexibility to float within the region and scope of practice is required.
Travelers will be expected to work 75% of holidays, with a weekend rotation of every other weekend.
The department fosters a culture of teamwork and accountability.
