Pay Information $2,113 per week About The Position Job Title: RN Psych Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Psychiatric Nursing Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12:00 AM - 12:00 AM Hours per Shift: 36 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years inpatient adult psychiatric experience License: Active RN License Certifications: AHA BLS, Certification in De-escalation Must-Have: Proficient in using automatic medication dispensing systems. Proficient in electronic health records documentation, preferably EPIC. Knowledgeable in psychotropic medications and their side effects. Able to assume the role of charge nurse. Competent in completing admissions and discharges. Competent in the use of IV pumps. Competent in the care of diabetic patients. Description: This position is for an Adult Psychiatric RN working rotating shifts. The unit is a 30-bed facility for adults aged 18-65. Patients present with a variety of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder. The RN will also care for patients with dual diagnoses undergoing detoxification while managing mental health issues. Some patients may have medical needs requiring IVs, CPAPs, wound care, and diabetic care. The clinician-to-patient ratio is 1 RN to 7 or 8 patients. Floating to other units may be required. Rotation for day shifts is mandatory, while night positions do not require rotation. Knowledge of local mental health regulations, rights of inpatient requirements, guardianship laws, and healthcare proxies is essential. Training in AVADE and lead EKG may be offered on-site. BLS certification is required.
