Pay Information $2,236 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor & Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Must-Have: OB experience Description: The unit has 9 Labor and Delivery Rooms, 8 Postpartum/GYN Rooms, 2 Operating Room suites, and a 23-bed wellborn nursery. There are over 50 staff members on the unit. Staffing includes a Director, Manager, couplet nurses, birth response nurses, Labor & Delivery nurses, and scrub techs during the day shift. Night shift includes a clinical coordinator or charge nurse, birth response nurses, couplet nurses, Labor & Delivery nurses, and scrub techs. Patient ratios are 3 couplets per nurse, and 1:1 for active labor with Pitocin or epidural. Equipment includes Corometrics and electronic medical records systems. Typical procedures performed on the unit include labor and delivery, cesarean sections, postpartum care, and newborn care. OBED triage and inductions are also part of the unit's responsibilities. The ideal candidate should be energetic and self-directed. Weekend shifts consist of 4 shifts per 4-week schedule, with work days on Saturday and Sunday or nights on Friday and Saturday. There is no call requirement for travel staff, though opportunities for extra shifts may be available.
