Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:00 - 06:30) Experience: 3 to 4 years in Labor and Delivery License: Current Registered Nurse license Certifications: AWHONN Fetal Monitoring, ACLS, BLS, NRP Must-Have: Strong Labor experience and comfort with postpartum care Description: Must have 3 to 4 years of Labor and Delivery experience. Night shift availability from 18:00 to 06:30. 36 hours per week are acceptable. The RN will be responsible for the care of women from childbearing through geriatric years and infants up to 28 days of life. This includes supervising and coordinating care with other disciplines. Basic computer skills are required. At least one-year Labor and Delivery and nursery experience is necessary. Postpartum experience is preferred. Graduate from an accredited school of nursing is required. AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification must be obtained within six months of employment. BLS certification is required prior to patient care and recertified every two years. Current NRP certification is required and must be obtained within six months of employment. The RN will demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/service appropriate to the age of the patients served. Effective communication with all members of the patient care team, including patients, families, and physicians, is essential. The RN will compassionately provide care, addressing physiological, psychological, and developmental needs. The ability to handle emergency situations in a prompt and professional manner is required. Responsibilities include documenting patient assessments, plans, interventions, and responses appropriately. The RN will develop and implement individualized plans of care for assigned patients. Maintaining a clean and safe environment in the patient care area is expected. The employee will frequently engage in bending, squatting, kneeling, and patient transfers. Vision requirements include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The position may involve occasional walking and sitting. All personnel must conform to confidentiality regulations as required. Employees are required to receive all vaccinations as a condition of employment.
