Pay Information $2,110 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Neuro ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 3 years Critical Care experience preferred. License: Virginia or Compact License required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have: Strong neuro experience required (post-neurosurgical, EVD, and stroke). Must be willing to float to Stepdown Unit and may also be floated to other units to care for ICU patients being held. Must be proficient in EPIC. Description: Chesapeake is located in a beautiful area known for its outdoor activities. It offers trails for all levels of hikers and over 20 waterways to explore. Strong neuro experience is essential for this position, including care for post-neurosurgical, EVD, and stroke patients. Additional skills required include experience with ventilators, IV drip titration, telemetry monitoring, conscious sedation, and emergency management. Ratios will be 1:2-3. Candidates with less than three years of experience may still be considered if they demonstrate strong qualifications. Patient populations include neurosurgical and post-stroke patients, as well as those with respiratory failure, renal failure, trauma, sepsis, and multi-organ failure. Candidates must be aware that the facility cannot accommodate specific equipment and fit testing history may affect eligibility. The role requires a solid understanding of dysrhythmias and managing various medical emergencies. Additional expectations include participation in patient care protocols involving critical situations and the ability to handle high-pressure environments. Travel experience is preferred but not mandatory. Important: Candidates residing less than 50 miles from the facility will not be considered.
