Must possess a license to practice law in the State of Louisiana; Must be in good standing with the Louisiana Bar Association; Ability to travel (including overnight travel) mainly for statewide court appearances, continuing education, and conferences. Preferred Qualifications:

Experience handling litigations in federal and state courts; Experience in motions practice and oral arguments in state courts; Knowledge of collection laws, garnishments, court practice and procedures, and collection practices; Excellent oral and written communication skills; Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines; Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork, and good judgment. The selected candidate will defend the State of Louisiana, other State agencies, and State employees in tort claims related to Civil Rights, Liability, Malpractice, Road Hazards, Transportation, and Workers' Compensation. The duties include: Serving as primary defense counsel in all phases of litigation; Performing legal research and drafting pleadings and documents; Identifying and securing witnesses and experts; Communicating with supervisors and clients; Handling administrative functions and documentation; Ensuring compliance with policies and working hours.
