The successful candidate will handle end-of-life planning, oversee trust and estate administrations, draft essential legal instruments, and prepare related filings. Key Responsibilities Develop customized estate blueprints, including testamentary documents and fiduciary arrangements
Draft and review complex trusts, powers of attorney, advance directives, and ancillary agreements
Oversee probate and trust administrations: coordinate asset gathering, creditor notices, and distribution plans
Prepare and file petitions, accountings, and other court submissions in Surrogate’s Court
Collaborate with tax advisors to assemble and file estate and gift tax returns
Advise on guardianship, conservatorship, and related capacity-planning matters
Communicate clearly with clients, beneficiaries, and financial institutions to resolve estate issues
Qualifications & Experience Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
Admission to the New York State Bar in good standing
Between 1 and 6 years of professional practice focused on trusts, estates, or probate
Proven ability to manage a caseload from intake through resolution
Core Competencies Strong drafting skills with attention to nuanced language
Familiarity with New York’s fiduciary and probate statutes
Excellent client management and interpersonal abilities
A detail-oriented approach to document preparation and review
Ability to juggle competing deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively
Education & Licensure J.D. from an accredited institution
Active New York Bar license
